Keeping your kids entertained during the summer holidays can be a challenge! And getting them to eat healthy while still enjoying some treats can be an even bigger struggle. We get it, we’ve been there too.

That’s why we came up with three yummy, nutritious recipes that will keep your kids cool, hydrated, and energized through the summer!

Tropical fruit pops

Fibre is key when you’re trying to keep things moving within your digestive tract! It’s what helps us feel full for longer periods of time, supports weight management, and gives bulk to our stools.

These tropical fruit pops are the perfect way to make sure your little ones stay cool and satisfied. With a blend of mangos, pineapples, coconut milk, and fibre, it’s the perfect treat to get your kids in the summer mood!

Benefits:

  • Mango – A rich source of vitamin A and C, which promotes eye health and enhances immunity. It also contains high fibre content, which will help with constipation.
  • Pineapple – The fluids from this fruit help stools to pass through easily. The fruit also contains an enzyme called bromelain, which improves bowel function and controls regularity.
  • Coconut Milk – Contains a lot of vitamins and minerals, including iron, magnesium, zinc, vitamin E and C, which all help to improve overall health, development and boosting immunity.
  • KIDS Organic Fibre – Helps to stimulate the growth of healthy bacteria in the gut. A great source of fibre, the key to healthy and regular bowel movements!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of chopped ripe fresh mango

  • 1/2 cup of chopped pineapple (*can be frozen)

  • 3/4 cup of full fat coconut milk

  • 1/4 cup of water

  • 1 scoop of KIDS Organic Fibre

  • Optional: 1 tbsp of sweetener (maple syrup or local honey)

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a high speed blender
  2. Pour this mixture into a popsicle mold. Make sure to leave about 1/4 inch of space at the top of the mold to allow the popsicles to expand in the freezer.
  3. When ready to serve, put each mold under running water for few seconds then wiggle the popsicle out.
  4. Enjoy!

Maintaining a healthy gut is one most important steps to take when it comes to our overall health. And that all comes down to the amount of friendly bacteria in your child’s gut.

This treat features our KIDS Probiotics powder and is filled with antioxidants and fibre. We’re sure your little ones will enjoy it!

Benefits:

  • Raspberries are loaded with fibre and vitamin C—an immunity booster that also helps kids absorb iron to power healthy blood and brain development.
  • KIDS Probiotics helps maintain a healthy balance of intestinal flora.
  • Black currants are high in antioxidants, including vitamin C.

Ingredients:

  • 3 limes

  • 1 cup of frozen raspberries

  • 1/4 cup plant based milk

  • 1 tbsp of honey of maple syrup

  • Small handful of black currants or mini chocolate chips

  • 1 1/2 tsp of KIDS Probiotics powder

Directions:

  1. Cut the limes in half. With a sharp knife, carefully cut around the inside of each lime and then scoop out the flesh or use a melon baller to scoop out the center. Set the flesh/centres off to the side to use for another recipe (or for a cocktail!)

  2. Add frozen raspberries, plant based milk and sweetener to a high speed blender. Blend until mixture has a smooth consistency.

  3. Scoop out the mixture and add it to each lime half.

  4. Sprinkle black currants to each lime half top.

  5. Serve immediately!
